Volkswagen Unveils the Upgraded 2019 Jetta GLI at the Chicago Auto Show

Volkswagen is not one to be shy about pushing the boundaries of its current models. Last month at the Chicago Auto Show, the legendary manufacturer revealed the 2019 Jetta GLI, an overhaul of the current Jetta models designed specifically to offer more power and enhanced handling for drivers that enjoy more performance. The 2019 Jetta GLI brings the sedan more in line with the Golf GTI and Golf R, which should please lifelong Volkswagen fans.

What’s immediately apparent about the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta GLI is a sportier exterior, offering LED projector headlights, a black honeycomb grille, and a red accent line. The GLI comes standard with a sport suspension and sits 0.6 inches closer to the ground, enabling more satisfying handling.

Obviously the crème of the crop is the added power under the hood. The 2.0-liter turbocharged and direct-injection TSI engine gets 288 horsepower and 258 pounds-foot of torque. The interior is shaded in black with red accents and stitching stylishly displayed on the steering wheel, shifter, armrest, and floormats.

The 2019 Volkswagen Jetta GLI will hit the lot in the Spring of 2019.
